Located in the Eastern Central Valley of Costa Rica -10 Kilometers East of Orosi - the Purisil Park Nature Reserve provides 200 peaceful hectares of cloudy rainforest and trout streams to enjoy the route to Tapantí National Park .

Its name is an indigenous word that means "pure waters" and it is true here where you will find several immaculate streams.

Fishing is one of the most popular attractions; also you can hike on the trails through primary and secondary forest, squint to spot the elusive quetzal and toucan.

This region of excessively damp climates, which range from hot to cool with average temperatures between 20,5°C and 12,5°C, provides shelter for innumerable butterflies, birds and mammals, the most distinctive being the quetzal, toucans, hummingbirds, neotropic river otters, Northern tamanduas, white-nosed coaties, collared peccaries, silky anteaters, howler monkeys, and three-toed sloths.

Endangered species such as the tapir, jaguar, ocelot, tiger cat and jaguarundi, also fin a protective habitat in this refuge.

There are two trails, one of about 30 minutes and another one of about 3-4 hours.
